Personalized Audiobook Production

Silverton Agency works with authors who would like an audiobook which brings their stories to life, with a voice which tells it like it's their own. For more than 12 years we have given independent authors personalized, human service, as an affordable alternative to mass-market DIY production sites. Hundreds of titles have been completed, and many more are currently in production.
Why Authors Love Our Service
- Dedicated human support. No automated algorithms. You work with live production experts from start to finish, and with your own dedicated production team if you are new to audiobooks.
- Global distribution. Through our partner Blackstone Audio, your book reaches well beyond Amazon, Audible and iTunes.
- 50% of net digital sales. Some other aggregators pay authors only a percentage of what their own “distribution partners” pay them.
Choosing Your Narrator
Pick from our roster of professional narrators, listen to samples on the roster page, or have narrators record a custom sample from your manuscript. You can also bring a narrator of your own. We work with professional narrators, including SAG-AFTRA members, and can pay them through the SAG-AFTRA paymaster if you wish.
Point of View and Narration Styles
If your book has two or more points of view, you can choose:
- Dual narration: each narrator performs whole sections or chapters, voicing every character in them.
- Duet narration: two or more narrators share the entire book, each voicing their own characters’ lines.
Finding the Perfect Voice
To match narrators to your story, we ask about:
- accents and dialects of primary or secondary characters
- the story’s setting, locale and time period
- the approximate ages of the main characters
- other vocal traits or performance notes, such as demeanor, energy level or pacing
How It Works
- All-inclusive pricing. You receive a fixed quote based on your total word count, covering narration, editing, mastering and distribution. No hidden fees.
- Payment. A 25% deposit is due when the agreement is signed. The balance is due when you approve the final production, or within 10 days after it is completed.
- Collaborative quality control. You approve a sample of about 10 to 15 minutes before full recording begins. Our in-house team then proofs the finished audio against your text and fixes any discrepancies with the narrator, and you give final sign-off.
Services scale to your needs, from mastering an audio file you already have to full production with global distribution.
Distribution
- Digital retailers. 30+ major digital retailers, including Amazon, Audible, iTunes, Google Play, Downpour, Barnes & Noble and Kobo, plus global markets.
- Libraries. Your audiobook is listed on OverDrive, the leading provider of digital media to libraries, and we market it to more than 800 libraries that hold standing purchase orders.
- CD and MP3 CD. Sold through Amazon, Downpour and eBay. Authors can order discounted copies for signings and giveaways.
